Thursday night was the west end premier (I shit you not) of Dr Syntax's Hire Me video and it's sooo good, CGI the works, single bounces August time I believe, not sure what label yet but will let you know as soon as I do. Good to see Stig of the Dump, Rizzle and Rup out and about and filming some hot 6'teens in the west end...and a surprise guest Sardine jumping out the back of one of the kitchens to bring a dancehall flava...look out for that on FU TV

A fail yet again, i keep meaning to try and keep this ish up to date, but life is hectic. So more promises to be better and what not ensue...

It's been a busy few months since I last managed to get anything down on here, shows at Cable, Vibe Bar and The Camden Crawl all stand out in my mind as being particularly dope and big ups to those that made it down.

More stallings on the forthcoming single as monies run dry and i need to pay for mastering and stuff like that. Dope artwork has been done though by Glenn Stone, so pass through his site if and when you have a chance.

What a difference a week makes eh? I'm pleased to report that my music PC is now ship shape again and running sweetly for a change.

All sorts of good shit floating around on the internet at the moment, and most notably a bit more from Dorian Concept. A selection of remixes that were doing the rounds sometime ago have surfaced on limited 7" vinyl. However they were first released into the public domain sometime ago for free downloads so if like me then you haven't bought any vinyl for years then you can download free here and don't worry it's guilt free, this was given away sometime ago...

well it never rains but it pours, my music pc has once again fallen fall of the inept technology peddled by that modern day snake oil salesman Bill Gates, why is it so difficult to develop software that works for longer than 6 months?

As you can imagine i've been pretty down about this nonsense, again means loss of work, having to spend time rebuilding the thing from scratch rather than doing anything constructive and so on and so on....GRRRRR

to top this off my car done went wrong last week along with every other damn thing that is going tits up at the moment it pretty much feels like the world is shitting on me...

enough self pity anyways.

As you can see from my previous post, I've been ill. Being ill is miserable especially seeing as you get time of work but can't do fuck all. Still, I'm feeling a little better today and aint staying in bed again, nope nope nope...

Obviously my life for teh past 4 days has been bed, bathroom, bed, fifa10, bed, bathroom etc etc etc...so there's been little of substance to report HOWEVER

Arsenal are back at the top of the league at the expense of Owen Coyle's Bolton..the moaning about Gallas's foul on some hick is a little bit much for me, he could have stomped all over all 10 outfield players and we'd still owe the village idiots payback for the agricultural tackles they've pulled over the past 3-4 seasons, well the boots on the other foot now eh? or the other ankle anyways nah mean?

A hectic weekend...

For the last few days all bets have been off, and I've been hibernating on the sofa in front of the fire hammering fifa 10 and occasionally glancing sceptically out the window. Admittedly the studio is less than 1o metres walk from the backdoor, however those 10 metres look considerably further through the thickness of a pane of glass espcially when theres snow on the ground.

This weekend we finally hooked up a new car for the missus so my taxi driver days have fortunately come to an end, no more stupidly early morning runs to the station for me, no sir.

So onwards and upwards, I caught a trailer for the new film The Road. It's being advertised as the bets film of the year?! wtf it's Jan11th for crying out loud, not the most difficult of plaudits to achieve is it...on teh subject of films I finally got round to watching District 9 last night. What a pile of shit that was, what was all the hype over? Blatantly just nicked the story from The Fly, south african accents are comedy though, Wikers constantly sounding like a scouser with a broken nose everytime he gets stressed is comedy gold.

Music wise fook all has been going on, I went through the very geeky process of creating a form/spreadsheet that i can use to map settings on my mixing desk and allows me to mix stuff down 2 or 3 times, compare them and select the best without losing all my settings. like i said, geek.

Work on the series of mixtapes is going as planned with the first one set to fly out on schedule on teh 23rd of this month, it's gonna be free so you can download, share, whatever i dont care, just bounce it in your system!

Because of the weather (shit fallen into it already) i'm working from home this week, suddenly doing a soulless office job becomes a lot more bearable when you dont have to go to the office. It also means that i get to spend more time in the studio. top tip - buy a portable heater.

So last night i spent a few hours mixing and re-mixing the new single to sound out what sounds best, Kashmere drops the vocals on it and just slays it...guys straight talented, which you should know by now anyways.

New Years Resolutions

So a new decade rolls in and you gotta hope that it's gonna be better than the last steaming pile of shit that laughably got labelled the noughties. Hip Hop died fairly conclusively, the war on terror was inadivsedly entered into and continues to drag on under a cloud of false pre-texts and self aggrandishment of political personalities that continue to walk around as free men. All in all it's been pretty fucking depressing decade with little of note to highlight it.

Having said that the Dubstep train continues to steam on and the wonky glitch step hip hop that is flicking my switches at the moment continues to maintain an underground persona and long may that continue.

My new years resolutions (apart from the usual cutting down on smoking and drinking) is too be more damn producitve and finally having realised my dream of having my own studio at home to get some more new music out. So on that note i'm happy to say that there is new things in the pipeline with imminent release dates,

first off is the first in a series of mixes to be released f.o.c. digitally.This will be winging it's way out the studio mid jan with a monthly follow up to pave the way for the album release summer.

second off a digital single is looking big with MC Mercury, Kashmere, Koaste, Orifice Vulgatron, Jehst and DJ 2Tall/OmUnit featuring....more in the press to follow.

Cargo show was dope, Kashmere never ceases to amaze me and hosted with proper energy for 90 minutes whilst i spun everything from wonky hip hop to dubstep to soul to boom bap and back again!

Graziella came through dropping an accapella of a tune we've had down for some time now followed up with a off the cuff duet with another talented young soul singer she hooked up with in X-Factor's boot camp, Joel. Thats it sorry just know his first name, dude stood up though on some D'Angelo shit.

Vortex feat Kashmere went down a storm and i was particualry pleased with my own mastering as the beat popped on that huge system they have down there, i know i know, own horn and all that but still satisfying...more to come!

Well i managed to get this far through without mentioning the football season starting again, but fuck it, here goes...6-1!!! away to everton on the first day of the season? get in, more to come from Arsene's magci men i reckon, could be the season the coccon finally splits and our your young catapillers hatch...

This thursday sees the kick off of more dope shit in the form of Hip Hop Kemp, we're flying out Thurs morning at stupid o'clock, rumours of a whiskey and poker session before the flight to try and stay up all night abound...i have every confidence in my own abilities in this respect...can't wait to get back out there, this time I'm taking a weekends supply of bran muffins as a 4 day diet of deep fried cheese and deep fried sausage is no joke,

Hoochinoo, Foreign Beggars Vid shoot and a weeekend in London

Monday morning seems to roll around with disturbing swiftness these days, one moment it's friday night and the world seems right and good, then suddenly you're spooning the 3rd teaspoon of sugar into your piss awful vending machine coffeee and wondering where it all went wrong

Still musnt moan too hard, it was a top weekend all in all and went a little something like this

Friday night kicked off with Hoochinoo at Vibe Bar in Brick Lane, this night is getting better and better with a real strong crowd turn out amidst artists and fans alike. This time round we had Kashmere (killed it), Bella Trix (female beatboxer), Delegates of Culture, myself and daredevil (altough the delay in start times meant that we didnt get to play and had to work on our drank)...the ongoing smoking ban nonsense means that people are always gonna be bouncing out for a quick fag as soon as one act finishes and normally this results in a 10 mintue empty club at the beginning of anyone' set, however for some reason the Vibe crowd were omni-present, a good look...throw in some quest appearnaces from Barry Blue (Gunshot), Farma G ( taskforce) Kyza (dented) as well as plenty other artists then there was a real good vibe (pardon the pun) going on all night...respect to Theo...4 deck set next time holmes

Saturday was the video shoot for the Foreign Beggars new single Contact produced by D'n'B heavyweights Noisia...i'm not going to go into details expecially about theme but this promises to be massive and the shoot was jokes with Orifice, Metropolis and Nonames on top form...cant wait to see the finished product and spot myself

Sunday was another video shoot for the Dr Syntax track Hire Me, altough my part got longed out as timescales worked against me; the updates from Synners by phone sounded damn amusing...again lips are sealed...

thats it for me, tonight i'm going to tesco to spend the 50 squid vouchor that Sky sent me to apologise for being c*nts...so feet firmly back on the ground...

Finally bought some new cd's

so bit of a moan really, I finally got round to buying some new cd's to listen to the car, Dillanthology 2 and a Daedulus album on Ninja Tune. both are pretty weak, when will Dilla be left to rest in peace? another cd of remixes too poor to come out originally is disappointint from whoever is running his estate these days, dont they realise that by continually releasing more and more weak shit then the good shit just becomes further diluted and meaningless...have a think. The daedulus shit pissed me off to, i picked up a 12 not so long ago with 2 heavy tracks on, sadly they were the only 2, big bass wonky style hip-hop/new beat generation sounds, really forward looking, imagine my disappointment on buying the cd and finding out all the other tracks are analgouey sounding house nonsense...gonna stick to buying MP3's i reckon, then you can HEAR stuff first...

Another bloody weekend of no music, i've got shitloads to do but seem to keep putting everything off. This time it was off to a little village up north to see me Nan for some easter eating and stuff, always a treat having proper roast beef and yorkshire puds. What is it with little old ladies though? they seem to have asbestos hands, i wouldnt have been suprised to see her lift the meat out the oven with her bare hands....

So back in London again and this week i really need to get this album finished and mixed, it's beyond a joke now. 12 tracks are pretty much done i just need to put the polish on em...looking forward to it, everyone thats heard the rough version of the album has been positive about it so..photoshoot at the end of April as well so it needs to be sorted asap!

Moaning: I got hyped up that there was a new some new Red Dwarf ish popping off over the weekend so set it to record. WHAT A PILE OF TOSS, although craig charles doesnt seem to have been hit too bad by the crack anyways lol

Got myself a check shirt today, feel like an utter sell out but looking good...at least i'll fit in in shoreditch..meh

Quiet Weekends and Memorials

Having been pretty much more stressed than I've ever been in my entire life me n wifey managed to sneak out to the countryside for a quiet weekend of family stuff. For a change we managed to stay in on friday night, every previous journey out West then we've ended up getting smashed in Friday night and not getting to bed until silly o'clock which always ensures a miserable hanging journey and a miserable weekend...

This time was different, we got up good and early and beat all the traffic and managed to hit teh west country by 10:30 b 12:00 we were safely camped out in a vegetarian restaurant in Glastonbury having vege burgers and pear cider, get in...i'll say this for hippies, they might be work shy smelly bastards but they know how to relax

Today was the memorial lunch for my little sister who was murdered 10 years ago this weekend. r.i.p Ashleigh you are always in my thoughts.

Well you're man over here is feeling bi-polar this week, seems everything's out to get me at the moment, what the f*ck is wrong with this country?

Me n the missus are trying to move house at the moment, it's a sweet deal, move out of zone 1 and into the countryside away from the noise, dirt and bullshit of central london. We found this dope house near the thames, the best bit is at the bottom of the garden there is a shed with seperate power supply and heating, perfect for a studio! soon i'll be sitting merrily in my shed making beats to my hearts content and not pissing off the neighbours or the missus...

then i forgot about stamp duty, what the f*ck is this man, another way for the government to gouge money out the hands of the hardest working while the "old money" sits on top of the heap like an engorged bloated pus ridden leech gradually bleeding the life out the people trying to get a little breathing space and create something for their (forthcoming) families...

are we still teh only country in the world stupid enough to pay a f*cking tv licence? for the bbc? andwhilst teh bbc clutches it's precious integrity to its chest wiht "quality" programming and no advertising in exchange for the licence fee it's making billions selling it's IPR to the US and any other nation depserate enough to sedate it's populace with mindless shit like Come Dancing..

Last night was the launch party for Jyagers forthcoming album on YNR records, this fella came in form left field for me, never heard of him then suddenly he's everywhere, and for good reason! the album is dope, just been taking a lazy sunday after late night and ambling round the kitchen listening to it, so dope in fact we're gonna be hitting up the studio next week to ge a track down s watch this space for an exclusive preview....still good to see Jehst, Michael Parkinson, Smurf and the YNR cats down there representing for their new generation of talent

Coming in pissed is always a trauma for me, especially when the missus has gone to bed, last night i bowled in after her with my usual stealth like tactics only to find a sleeping figure on the sofa hidden under a mess of hair. "ahh bless" i thought, so i scooped her up to take her to bed only to be confronted with a very suprised japanese girl i' d never met before....turns out we had a friend sleeping over, i'd naturally assumed it was the missus under the mess of hair and tried to do the gentlemanly thing....

so with the Gunners back in form pulverising the toon yesterday and a lazy sunday afternoon in the garden smoking piff and reading the papers cover to cover it's been a decent weekend all round, so i'm gonna leave you with some sunday music...classics
